[August 15th, 22nd, 29th, Sept. 12th, 19th -skip Labor Day]

Hello, my name is Beatrice and I started Fit Moms Bootcamp in 2015 after my last baby was born. I have taught group fitness  since 2001 (Kickboxing, Step Aerobics, Body Sculpting, bootcamps, Kangoo Jumps, Barre & Spinning).

After becoming a Mom I realized how difficult it is to get in to the gym for some 'ME TIME'. The challenges of arranging child care, babysitters or time schedules with the Dad make it easy to just skip it all.
So I started a bootcamp where you were encouraged to bring your baby/child WITH you so that you don't have to worry about childcare, babysitters, etc.

It began as Baby Stroller bootcamp but soon enough Moms of older children were asking if they could join and it soon became Fit Moms Bootcamp.

What are the workouts like?

Fit Mom Bootcamps consist of body-weight exercises working the full body (pushups, squats, mt.climbers, lunges, running/walking, etc). Since all the Moms are at different fitness levels I show modifications (or advanced options) for all the exercises. We use what's around us. Benches, sidewalk curbs, hills, etc.

What do my kids do?

The older kids sometimes join in on our workouts but usually they end up playing with the other kids.
Toddlers & babies are usually with their Moms. Babies are either in their stroller or on a blanket watching us. Toddlers play around the Moms. We all watch out for each other's kids.
If babies get fussy, no problem! The Moms tend to their needs and then jump back in when they can.

You do what you can as long as your little 'workout-buddy' allows you to.  We meet in places that confine the group to one spot. For example, we've met at the Midland Civic Arena because they have a turf field in one of the old hockey arenas. The arena is enclosed and the kids can run around the whole field. We've also met at Thrune Park where it's enclosed as well.

I have been teaching Group Fitness since 2001. I was trained to teach Kickboxing & Step Aerobics at The University of Michigan-Flint while attending there to obtain my Elementary Education Degree. After graduation I moved with my husband to Midland, MI. I started teaching Kickboxing at the Seung-ni Fit Club in Midland. There I was trained to teach Body Sculpting & bootcamp style classes. I later became the office Manager of Seung-ni Fit Club-Midland. After 3 years of managing I took over management of the Seung-ni Fit Club-Bay City location. During that time I was able to introduce to the Tri-Cities a new style of fitness called Kangoo Jumps.   After 3 years of managing/teaching in Bay City I returned back to Midland because my husband & I were starting our little family. When I returned to Midland I also started teaching Kangoo Jumps (and now Step Aerobics & Barre classes) at Element 22 Studios.
Most recently I was trained in Cycling classes at Seung-ni Fit Club-Midland & Barre22 classes at Element22.
I enjoy being able to stay at home with my kids everyday but then to get away for some me time and go teach a class. The Fit Moms Bootcamp has provided an opportunity to get the best of both. Going to the bootcamps allows me to get a workout in with some friends AND bring my kids along. They get to play & socialize and I get to burn some calories!
